Visiting the Assembly

Many constituents have contacted my office over the years keen to visit the Assembly. Since the completion of the new Assembly building there has been a big increase in the number of people who wish to visit Cardiff Bay.

Welsh Assembly BuildingThe new Senedd building is of architectural significance as well as being the seat of Welsh democracy. The feed back I have had from many people is that it is worth a visit for that reason alone.

There is a dedicated team of staff who organise group visits to the Assembly. They will discuss with you to see what kind of visit you would like and what you would like included in the visit. Some groups like to visit on a day when the Assembly is in session and catch some of a Plenary session, whilst for other that isn't a priority.

Once you have agreed a date and what kind of visit you would like, the Assembly visits team contact me and let me know that a group of people from the constituency will be visiting the Assembly.

I always make every effort to come and say hello to everyone from Aberavon who have come to visit it the Assembly, but on some occasions when the diary is extremely full it is not always possible. Though the groups who haven't managed to meet have told me this hasn’t spoilt their day!

For those of you thinking of visiting the Assembly if you click on the link below this will take you to the page giving you all the information you need about organising a visit.

If you do come along to Cardiff Bay I wish you all a very pleasant and interesting day.
